DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1. What image comes to your mind when you hear the expression “A man’s man”? Is it the picture of an outdoorsman, skilled in hunting and fishing? Might it be the idea of a man capable of building his own house? Is it more along the lines of a tough guy in the mold of John Wayne? 2. Do you agree or disagree with his statement "It is remarkable to me how easily precious things can be lost." Have you ever lost something precious and were surprised at how easy it was? Would you be willing to share this? 3. The Bible presents a Biblical Mandate for us to be godly men. Do you know what it is? Try and guess. 4. Did you have a good father growing up? Would you say that you both connected well? Did he exemplify manliness to you? What did it look like? 5. Genesis 2 tells us four essential things about man: who man is, where man is, what man is, and how man is to fulfill his calling. What are they? Elaborate if possible 6. The author respectfully disagrees completely on the premise of Eldridge's book Wild at Heart. Do you agree with his conclusion? Or, do you still agree with Eldredge (our souls belong in the wilderness and not in the cultivated garden.)? 7. Gen 2:15 teaches us that God made man to "work" and "keep" the Garden of Eden. Do you agree with this? What do the words "work" and "keep" entail here? |
