Highlights.
- Our SF trip was a lot of fun. There were 7 of us and we took the Megabus in and had a relaxing day just walking all over the city. The weather was perfect. This is one part of the ministry that is especially enjoyable to me, just being myself and connecting to each of them naturally and living the Bible before them.
- Megan* is still going to church with us at both the Iranian Church and Jesus Culture. This last Sunday Megan* signed up to do the 5-week class at the Iranian Church on what it means to be a Christian. :) It will be taught by the pastor who has been answering all of her questions in Farsi.
- This Thursday is the last Talk Time for the this school year. Most of my students are leaving for home this summer so I have been fortunate enough to be asked if I would do technical support for the other west coast team members this summer. I think this is great as I do have good programming skills and I can partner up with each of the team members and learn what they are doing and help them by automating any of their manual tasks so they can spend more time with students.
- I have been asked to teach Megan's son how to drive. She is too nervous to do it. I think this is great as I get to talk with him and get to know him better. Last week I was able to talk to him about how he liked the youth group he was going to. He said he likes it a lot but there is just so much he does not understand. I told him that is to be expected but I would be happy to answer any of his questions.
- Gita*, our club president, was able to go to Haiti (her home) and do a missions trip for Spring break. I haven't heard all the details yet but she told me she was so happy to see her mom and that God blessed her time with all the students she worked with. :)
- One of the girls from my youth ministry, about 15 years ago, had tickets for Round 2 of the Warriors Playoffs and gave them to me!! :) She also supports me in this ministry and has a lovely Christian family. Such a blessing to me!
Lowlights.
- The SF trip was a financial stretch for most of the students but I was glad to be able to help them out a little.
- I am always sad to see the school year end and the students return to their home country for the summer.
Story 1
No student story this month.
Prayer Requests
- Plans for the summer with the students. Most, if not all, of my peers take the summer off to plan and prepare for next year. I want to just keep meeting and doing things with the students. Pray that God will give me ideas on what to do- Picnics, bike rides, kayak trips, Bible study... <<Answered>> <<I found out that most of my students are returning home this summer, At the same time ISI asked me to work on a bunch of technical projects for the team which I have already started. Perfect timing and answer to prayer>>
- Our SF trip. We are taking MegaBus and will be together the entire day and into the night. What a tremendous opportunity to be salt and light and have great conversations and show them Christ by how we live our lives with them! <<Answered>> <<Everything went perfect! we all had a great time.>>
- How to end well. The end of the school year is coming in a 5 weeks. Pray that God would have us end well and that we can do something special to cap off a great year. A dinner at my house, the Taco Truck for everyone again, gifts of some sort... <<Answered>> <<One more bowling trip and then a final dinner at my house>>
- For Megan*. That God would continue to show Himself to her and build on the experience she had with Him at Easter. That she would know for sure she has found the relationship with Him she desires. Pray for my wife to be able to follow-up with her soon and say the right things. <<Ongoing>> <<As noted above, please pray for her over the next 5-6 weeks as she attends the What is a Christian? class at the Farsi church!>>
- For Ana* and Zoey*. Like Megan* that God would start drawing them to Himself and making them aware of their need for Him. They are both great friends with Megan*. That perhaps Megans* seeking will inspire them to seek also. <<Ongoing>> <<Zoey* was recently given a Bible by one of her peers :). Ana* seems to be a little suspicious of Christian activity lately>>
Admonition
“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life." - Jude 1:20,21
