Highlights.
- Jared* is here! Jared* is Megan's husband and has not been able to come to the US for over 3 years. We have been praying that God would bring him here or Megan* and her children would have had to go back to Iran. We are so happy to finally meet him and we all went to church together Sunday :)
- School has started! We have already had a booth at the Club Fair and also Falcons Day! We were asked to come speak about our club at Istudent Orientation! We had our all-area prayer day. Everything is off to a perfect start.
- Jane's gift of Evangelism just grows more and more evident in this ministry. Nica* (see Story 1, below), and her parents have told me that Jane is their very best friend in the United States and when we asked Nica* to church they said- whatever she wants you to go to, you do. We trust her.
- I have been working with a couple friends on creating a personalized evangelistic tract to give to the Istudents. I have done some research as to what is currently being used in other ministries. If you are interested, the info is here: Evangelistic Tracts.
- I have been spending just inordinate amount of time in God's word. There are so many wonderful, even mind-boggling Bible resources available on the web. If you are interested, here are all the ones I use: Bible Resources. There are 2 tabs at the bottom: Online Resources and App Resources.
- Our first Talk Time of the year was great! Everyone was so glad to be with each other again. It really did feel like a family reunion. There were 12 of us (which is a lot for FLC). We had 3 new students- one from Kenya, one from India and one from Romania. It was also great to have Ana* back! :)
Lowlights.
- I am still having post-tumor regulation issues. Everything hits me as a 0 or a 10. I used to be analog and now I am digital :/ It makes living sort of hard much of the time.
Story 1 - Nica*
Nica* is a new FLC student from Iran. She is a very sweet young girl and has come to church with us twice and loves it! Her mother actually works in the salon right next to my wife and they are best friends :) I can't believe it. A few years ago I had never shared the Lord with a Muslim, now 6-7 of our closest friends are from Iran and go to church with us! This ministry truly is blessing me! At church Sunday, Nica* raised her hands during the worship time. She is not saved yet so we asked her- why did you raise your hands? She said- I felt God and I wanted more! Can you believe that? Is that the best answer ever for lifting your hands in church?! I sure hope she gets saved. Her heart is so soft.
Story 2 - Jared*
As mentioned above, God has done a huge work in finally bringing Jared* here! What an answer to prayer. He has only been here a week and we all went to our Farsi church Sunday- Jared*, Megan* and Nica*. Then we all went out to lunch at In-n-Out and brought Jared's* children. As I looked down the table it was almost surreal, there were 5 people from Iran in my life and we were all just talking and having a wonderful time. It is nothing I would have ever envisioned or created on my own. I just had to stop and tell God- thank You so much for considering me worthy (in Jesus) to be Your heart with these people.
Prayer Requests
- This is the new prayer for Megan*. Continue to pray for heart that she would open the door to Jesus. She knows enough now. Pray for her son Shawn*. He is also learning a lot about Christ and seems to like what he is hearing! He is getting close. Pray for Megan*s husband! He finally has been approved to come to the US. I expect him to join his wife and son as they all go to church and learn more and more about Jesus. Maybe the whole family will accept Christ at the same time :) He also will need a job in the US. He is an engineer and it would be great if he could stay in the area or get in a company with other Christians. <<Ongoing. Answered: Her husband is here! He is as wonderful and open to the Lord as is his wife! Answered: Megan* signed her whole family up to take a weekly class Freedom in Christ starting next Sunday!>>
- God would prepare the hearts of the new students that will come to us in the Fall! <<Ongoing>>
- For Ana* and Zoey*. Like Megan* that God would start drawing them to Himself and making them aware of their need for Him. They are both great friends with Megan*. That perhaps Megans* seeking will inspire them to seek also. Zoey* is also Muslim. <<Ongoing>> <<Zoey* and Jane continue to be better friends :). Ana* has dropped out, I believe :( >>
Admonition
Then they said to one another, “We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news (the gospel), but we are keeping silent; if we wait until morning light, punishment will overtake us. Now therefore come, let us go and tell the king’s household.” - 2 Kings 7:9
