Highlights.
- Nica* still growing in the Lord. Being discipled and going to Bible Study and Church each week.
- Megan* is back! She invited us to the Christmas party at our Farsi church! :) She brought her two children but her husband was out of town.
- I started an Online/App pilot program called International Student Bible Fellowship (ISBF). It is through the YouVersion Bible (bible.com) and allows me to interact with the other International Students at the various NorCal colleges and universities. Right now we are doing a 1-month trial run to work out all the bugs. Guelta (the president of ILife @ FLC) and I and one of my peers from ISI and one of my previous high school ministry students are connected. We go through the Bible in a year with the Bible Project videos and then we have an area where we all share what God is teaching us and ask each other questions. My initial impressions are that this is going to work and even be easily expanded to include the students who return to their home country and still want to be connected to the Bible with us. I am also proposing this idea to BSF that they adopt this into their program.
- Megan* and her two children came to our Farsi church for their Christmas celebration! :) <see Story, below>
- Nothing... :)
Story 1 - Jared*
Remember Jared*? He is Megan's* husband. He could not make our Christmas party at the Farsi church since he was on travel for business. Once again, the divine network comes through for us. He took Uber to the SF airport for his flight. Megan* called us afterwards to tell us this- Erv, Jane, guess what? My husband was in the car all the way to SF and the Uber driver talked to him the whole way about Jesus! Can you believe that? You were right. God is reaching out to my whole family.
Prayer Requests
- One of my high school ministry students and his wife would like to help Jane and I in this ministry! :) Personally, I would love this! Still, pray that it is God's will and He will find the ideal spot for them. Maybe they would come on staff with ISI. I am also going to ask one of my Christian friends from Intel (Hope) and see if he would like to join us.
- Pray that I can select a perfect time to meet for Talk Time next semester. It is always a challenge to get everyone on the same page and find the perfect time that will remain unbooked all semester.
- Continue to pray for Megan*, her husband Jared* and their teenage son Shawn*. They just seem so close now to praying to receive Christ. I think it would be wonderful if the whole family accepts Christ at the same time :) <<Ongoing. Still not Christian but her and her husband and teenage son are ever so close!>>
- God would continue to work in the hearts of all the FLC Istudents that are drawn to us! <<Ongoing>>
- For Ana* and Zoey*. Like Megan* that God would start drawing them to Himself and making them aware of their need for Him. <<Ongoing. I hope Ana* comes back this semester or we can stay in touch in other ways. Haven't seen Zoey* or Mona* all month>>
- That we can find ways to accommodate each students busy schedule. They want to be at Talk Time and come to our events but they take their classes extremely serious. <<Ongoing>>
- I am still unsure if I should restart Talk Time at RCC. <<Yes, we should. That God will help us have a successful startup and the students will be glad to have us back>>
