Highlights
- I am now an Online Missionary (OM) with Global Media Outreach (GMO)! A perfect compliment to my ministry with ISI :) I am currently in my 6-week training. - I am going for a week of training in Agape Care Pastoral Counseling March 11-15. As you may recall, last time I went up there I was more of a 'patient.' I was so incredibly blessed that I decided I need to learn how to bless others with this 'healing love' of God approach.
- God has figured out a new balance point for our ministry. Ministry focus- evangelism vs discipleship? Erv- Evangelism and Discipleship (GMO and ISI). Jane- Evangelism (ISI).
- I was looking through old ministry photos and stumbled across the one shown above. I recalled the incredibly sad story surrounding it. A woman who jumped out of a car to take a picture of Moji* appearing to be so excited to do it. Moji* said- no, but the woman insisted and asked to use her camera. Afterwards, she handed back the camera and said- look at the picture. I cut your heads off! Welcome to America!
Story 1 - Fati*, Rosie*, Nica*
Jane was talking to Rosie* last week. Rosie* was showing her some pictures of her friend from Iran. However, her face was terribly burned by a chemical or a fire. Rosie* confided with Jane that this is what happens in Islam/Iran when a girl refuses to marry a man who has proposed. Jane was horrified (as I was) and quickly told Rosie* about how Jesus handled the situation with the woman caught in adultery. Rosie* immediately asked- you must read this to me right now! At this same time, Fati* and Nica* walked in and Jane read the story to all three of them! They were visibly moved by the compassion of Jesus toward the woman and the honor he showed her despite the terrible sin she was involved with. They also questioned why the man was not presented to Jesus for judgment. This has been a regular example of how Jane naturally disciples new Christians through her normal behavior.
Prayer Requests
- Pray for Jane as she disciples Fati*, Rosie*, and Nica*. What is the most effective way? She is bringing them to church. She shares organically every time she is with them. Still, I think they should go through one of our Discipleship books or programs. Jane is a gifted evangelist but discipling is a little more difficult for her.
- Pray for Erv as he disciples Jared*. He has sent all of his Discipleship materials to him. He brings him to his fellowship group every Thursday where everyone has embraced him and lovingly answers all his questions. Still, Erv wants to do more. Erv feels like Jared* might be called to go into full-time ministry.
- Continue to pray for Megan* and her teenage son Shawn*. Jared* has accepted Christ. Megan* is very close. Shawn* stood with his dad and acknowledged God has changed his life by what He has done in his dad's life. <<Updated>>
- God would continue to work in the hearts of all the FLC iStudents that are drawn to us! <<Ongoing>>
- That Bert* would get saved! Maybe even when he is in Israel with Young Life this summer. <<Drop>>
- I am still unsure if I should restart Talk Time at RCC. <<Drop for this semester>>
Admonition
Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation who shall go out before them and come in before them, who shall lead them out and bring them in, that the congregation of the Lord may not be as sheep that have no shepherd." - Num 27:16-17
