Highlights
- GMO. In the last month:
- >160 connections. ~90% salvations.
- 42 of which I am now discipling online (It is probably a little less. There is redundancy in the online metric)
- ISI. In the last month:
- Visited International Office on FLC campus to discuss plans for next year. Finalizing plans over email now.
- Jane had an incredibly blessed time at this years National Conference in Portland. I did not go. See Lowlights below.
- I will be leading a small group of iStudents (all Muslim. 1 saved. 3 not) over the summer. See Story 1 and Prayer Requests, below.
- Submitted ISI budget for 2019-2020. It was approved. My RFD would like to see a little more $ to provide a 'cushion.' I am praying about it.
- Yearly Performance Reviews underway. I need to summarize my accomplishments this week. All of you are welcome to read my Review once my RFD has reviewed it with me (in ~10 days).
- Was able to work with a Christian professor at CSUS and get him plugged into the ministry there at CSUS :)
- Jared* is moving... add update
- Lots of time in God's word. I talked with my College Pastor and he wants me to write down my insights and the things that God is teaching me :) My first entry is in the top navbar: Erv>Blog. Or, Here is my first entry.
- We got a new mailbox at our house. It's a great mailbox.
- RFD advised me I should have ~$400/mo more in support coming into my account.
- I did not go to National Conference this year. I was not required to go so I decided to save the $ for ministry. Also, I needed to watch the dog and cat so Jane would be at peace so she could focus her attention on the speakers and in her classes.
- Ministry in the summer can be slow.
Story 1 - Dr. Oz*
I have been asked to take 4 of my students though a program entitled "Creating the Better Hour (CTBH)." Lessons from William Wilberforce.
"The commitment is to meet five times with the internationals you are mentoring to go through the materials, facilitate discussion, and encourage and mentor them as they brainstorm a mini-redemptive change project."
Would you take a moment to check it out at https://bit.ly/2WobPB9?
Prayer Requests
- God will lead me to the right students to participate in CTBH. Jared*, Rene*, Sandy*, Faraday*, Amen* and Zoro*
- For opportunities to meet with the FLC iStudents over the summer. <<Ongoing. Jared*, Rene (boy)>>
- Pray for Jane as she disciples Fati*, Rosie*, and Nica*. What is the most effective way? She is bringing them to church. She shares organically every time she is with them. Still, I think they should go through one of our Discipleship books or programs. Jane is a gifted evangelist but discipling is a little more difficult for her.
- Pray for Erv as he disciples Jared*. He has sent all of his Discipleship materials to him. He brings him to his fellowship group every Thursday where everyone has embraced him and lovingly answers all his questions. Still, Erv wants to do more. Erv feels like Jared* might be called to go into full-time ministry. <<Ongoing>>
- Continue to pray for Megan* and her teenage son Shawn*. Jared* has accepted Christ. Megan* is very close. Shawn* stood with his dad and acknowledged God has changed his life by what He has done in his dad's life. <<Updated>>
- God would continue to work in the hearts of all the FLC iStudents that are drawn to us! <<Ongoing>>
Admonition
Instead, let us test and examine our ways. Let us turn back to the Lord. - Lamentations 3:40
